Transforming operations with geometallurgy examples of how geomet is used.
Geometallurgy is transforming mine operations and mine profitability across the globe. In this presentation, Rob Chesher discusses various ways that mining companies are exploiting the natural geological characteristics of their orebodies to increase throughput and reduce operating costs. With improved sensors and modelling capability, technologies such as mine-to-mill optimisation and ore sorting are finding new applications and turning waste into ore. These step-change improvements are based on geometallurgical characterisation of the orebodies and recognition of strategic opportunities. Recent developments and some case histories will be presented.
